Vung Tau never gets old for travellers – you can visit for a day trip, a short stay or a long one. It is one of the leading destinations in the country and in the South East region, and every year this beautiful coast gains more attractions waiting to be explored...
1. On the way to Vung Tau, stop at today's top selfie spot – the sheep field, where striking, fairy-tale photos are taken. A photo session with the sheep costs 100k per vehicle, regardless of the number of seats. It is an informal service, so visitors should be aware.
2. In Vung Tau you also can't miss Bach Dinh (White Palace) – a late-19th-century mansion in European style on the slope of Big Mountain. The road to Bach Dinh is also very beautiful and romantic, with village-style rows of trees that make your photos look like they were taken in Korea.
3. Nuoc Ngot Pass is a short pass winding between Long Dien and Dat Do districts in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, about 25 km from Vung Tau and 2 km from Long Hai beach.
A suggested motorbike route: from Ho Chi Minh City, head towards Cat Lai ferry to Nhon Trach, turn right onto National Road 52, go straight through the Ba Ria gate to Long Hai, follow the coastal road over a small pass and you reach Nuoc Ngot Pass.
4. Vong Nguyet Beach is a beach in Vung Tau at the foot of Small Mountain, visible in full from the open-armed Christ statue on top of Small Mountain.
5. Ho Tram is not noisy, busy or crowded like other beaches. The beach is long and beautiful, the water clear blue, the sand white – and the seafood quite cheap.
Ho Tram was once named one of the most beautiful, unspoilt beaches in the world by a famous American TV channel.
6. Pig Hill (Doi Con Heo) – the name alone makes you curious, though no one has yet found out where this cute name comes from. With its wild, dusty charm, a touch of mystery on the rocky path, dry grassy hills and the vast sea and sky, it will give you unusual photos unlike anywhere else.
7. Far from the noise and bustle of Back Beach, Front Beach or the city centre, Bai Dau nestles at the foot of Big Mountain. It is quiet, peaceful and uniquely romantic. Bai Dau lies to the west of Big Mountain and north of central Vung Tau. From Front Beach, follow the coastal Tran Phu Street about 3 km past Bach Dinh and you reach Bai Dau. Before it was called Bai Dau, it was known as Vung May beach because of the many wild rattan plants here. Today the rattan and wild mulberries are gone, but the name lives on in a sheltered beach with many fascinating, poetic rocky outcrops.
8. Da Xanh lake impresses visitors with its beautiful scenery – a large blue lake nestled in and surrounded by high cliffs. Here you can take as many photos as you like with the crystal-clear blue water, pose on the wooden bridge, the swing…
9. Address: on top of Small Mountain (also called Tao Phung mountain), Ward 2, Vung Tau City, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Vietnam. To reach the lighthouse, visitors follow the winding road up Small Mountain. The road is very beautiful, curving gracefully along the mountainside, with tropical trees growing among the rocks and shading the path, adding to the wild, peaceful atmosphere.
Strolling along the small mountainside road and breathing in the fresh air is a favourite pastime of locals and visitors alike. There are also many beautiful, romantic views for you and your loved ones to capture as lasting memories.
10. The sea in front and the mountains behind – a delightful scene you can enjoy from Nghinh Phong Cape, a must-see in the seaside city of Vung Tau. Besides exploring the poetic natural scenery, you can also go down to Vong Nguyet beach and feel the cool sea breeze.
So why wait? Come to Vung Tau and discover these brand-new spots – Vung Tau is always calling.
